  • When a site exceeds three levels such as the home page and additional levels, it will become difficult to have anything beyond the first level indexed by the search engines. As such, it becomes important to include sub level pages within the map. This will allow the sub pages to become indexed in a quicker fashion. This is achieved by way of the search engine bots crawling (and indexing) the site map thoroughly. Therefore, it is important to maintain all important pages at the top of the map structure.

From an SEO perspective, any page that contains significantly large graphics or a flash intro to the site is not good. This is because there is no textual content and that is of very little value for SEO purposes. This is why it is critical to include text links that employ HTML code in addition to the links. This will make sure that the search engine robots have the ability to properly crawl every page that contain the aforementioned Javascript links.
